Making Summer Count; Day Thirty Eight

Ok, I'm in higher spirits than I was before. That means more frequent posting!

Today I packed for a six day, five night trip to Florida. :) I'm leaving Wednesday, and today I got crazy excited. For the first time. Haha. I packed probably four outfits too many and 7 pairs of underwear too many. Well, actually, you can't have too many pairs of underwear. :) Either way, my suitcase is full, and I'm not even finished packing! Well, that's what happens when you're a girl like me.

I finished reading Dear John a couple of weeks ago. It was good... I liked it, except for the fact that I was majorly depressed when I finished it. It was sweet, granted, but still saddening. The part that really hit me was Johns' fathers' death. Only seven people attended the funeral, including John. "It broke my heart-absolutely broke it into a million pieces-that in all the world, only these people had seen the worthiness of my dad." That so depressing.

Savannah also had a lot of inspiring, and honest outlooks about life. For example, when she was talking about passions. She says," The saddest people I've ever met in life are the ones who don't care deeply about anything at all. Passion and satisfaction go hand in hand, and without them, any happiness is only temporary, because there's nothing to make it last."

She also had a very effective passage about struggles during hard times. She says, "When you're struggling with something, look at all the people around you and realize that every single person you see is struggling with something, and to them, it's just as hard as what you're going through." That's so deep, and ever since I read that paragraph, I've been doing that. It helps.

Have a good night, everyone. I still need to get ready for Florida! :) Isn't that a wonder?

Making Summer Count; Day Eighteen - Twenty Two

Sorry it's been so long that I've posted.

I've spent most of the time at home... I've been watching TV, working on the Dream Journal. Nothing super major to talk about. :) Today I went to a pool party, though. It was really fun. I hope everyone's having a great summer, though!

Making Summer Count; Day Seventeen

FUNN... Today I watched an old movie that I loved growing up, Little Shop of Horrors. It was fantastic. :D But I think I'm coming down with something, which isn't fantastic. :(

THAT'S not a wonder... Is it?

Making Summer Count; Day Fifteen and Sixteen

AH, I can't even begin to remember yesterday. Sorry, I know THAT'S disappointment.

Today isn't much to tell, though, either. I'm working on this new project- my dream journal. It's basically a book of all my aspirations. It's fun making it.

But I'm watching the MTV Music Awards now. Isn't that a wonder?

Today was pretty good. It was my Grandmothers birthday so we went out to lunch for her at a sushi bar. Isn't that a wonder?

Making Summer Count; Day Thirteen

Hello! :) This segment is a teenager now. :) The day was good. It started for me when my mom and I went to Wal-Mart. We bought waffles- always a good catch! She also bought me a fish net. Which I'm so happy to have. I got to clean my fish bowl really well. My fish look happier. Does fish look happier? They're swimming around a lot more. They look like they're having fun. I love dear Mercutio and Poseidon, my two beta fish.

ALSO! Guess who has two fans on LOOKBOOK. Me. : ] Isn't that a wonder?

Have fun you guys, and enjoy life.

Making Summer Count; Day Twelve

It's so hard to post sometimes, because I choose to post late at night... And by the time I post, I can't actually remember the morning. So I have to really, really search my memory to give you guys an accurate review of my day. Gosh. Well, that's how it's going to be, because I'm not changing my ways. :]

Okay, my mom bought me this new book yesterday, Dancing in the Fire. It's set in 19th century Paris- specifically, the Paris Opera House. There's a little ballerina. Her name is Sylvie. I'm not extremely far in the book, but I'm far enough to know she's finally starting to have the life she's always dreamed as far as ballet, but now it's only going downhill because of the war with Prussia. It seems really good!

If you don't know, I'm in love with the 19th century. I love the art, the clothes, the whole essence. It's my favorite time period! Well, 1800s-1930s. (My second favorite is when the dinosaurs existed. :) ) And it isn't only the 19th century America, but world-wide. It was lovely. I guess that's a suckish time period for me to like, though. Because I'm black, and that's the time period during slaves. I've never really thought about the 19th century like that until I was talking to a friend earlier, and she was like, "I hope you don't like 19th century AMERICA." I knew what she was implying immediately, but still... It was kind of a shock. I wasn't expecting that, because whenever I daydreamed about the 19th century, slavery never came up. If I'm honest, I never daydreamed about southern America. It was always New York, or England, or France... I won't let this little oil spill over my dream, though. And that's the snag, you know? Many times, I would have a really cool thought, aspiration, image going for me in my head. I'd be really into it, the thought. It'd have the tiniest embellishments of a bigger beauty, until someone comes around and says something to me that'd ruin it all. The grandeur of the dream would be crushed, and I'd forever rue the moment I revealed my personal dreams. Somethings you should keep to yourself.

I'm also really into ballerinas! Every time I go to see a ballet, during the whole performance I wonder how different my life would be if I'd stuck to ballet. The girls who do it still are so beautiful, and graceful, and elegant. They're wonderful to watch. :] I think I'm actually going to purchase a tutu. Don't make me regret telling you guys that. Isn't that a wonder?

Have fun you guys, and enjoy life.

Making Summer Count; Day Eleven

For the past three days, I've been listening to this group on Youtube nonstop! They're called the Midnight Beast, and you should really check them out! I really like their videos, "Lez Be Friends", "Tik Tok Ke$ha Parody", XXXMAS BUDDIES... (How to get a xmas....) (Parody)", and "Friends for Never." They're very addicting.

Today was really good. I definitely made it count... Firstly, since I've changed my sleeping pattern to waking up around 10, I haven't been eating an actual breakfast. I feel it's too late for breakfast. So instead I've been eating pizza. BUT TODAY! I made me waffles and eggs. :] Purely delicious.

Secondly, I actually got summer math homework done. It really wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. We have over 600 problems to do, I think. I haven't really counted, but that's what I've been told. We have to do all the evens of the first two chapters... oh, the joy. My cool friends have decided to have study sessions at Starbucks. We'll work on math. It's a really good idea. Working on math with others so that if you have any questions, someone will be there to answer. We've all agreed that we should have at least some problems done before our first meeting, so that we can get as many questions answered as we can. I'm on the first section of the chapter and I already have questions. :P

Thirdly, I finally got around to watching Dear John. Late, I know. :P But now that I've watched the movie, I can read the book. I wanted to watch the movie before I read the book so that the movie wouldn't suck to me. I knew the book was going to be good regardless. It's a Nicholas Sparks book. I wasn't too sure about the movie, though. I personally think The Notebook will forever be his best, but I lot of people liked the Last Song and Dear John. I've never read a book by him, but I plan to. I have The Notebook and Dear John. I would have been read The Notebook, but I haven't seen it all the way through yet. I KNOW. I'm so late, it's ridiculous. :P Isn't that a wonder?

Have fun you guys, and enjoy life.
