Making Summer Count; Day Thirty Eight

Ok, I'm in higher spirits than I was before. That means more frequent posting!

Today I packed for a six day, five night trip to Florida. :) I'm leaving Wednesday, and today I got crazy excited. For the first time. Haha. I packed probably four outfits too many and 7 pairs of underwear too many. Well, actually, you can't have too many pairs of underwear. :) Either way, my suitcase is full, and I'm not even finished packing! Well, that's what happens when you're a girl like me.

I finished reading Dear John a couple of weeks ago. It was good... I liked it, except for the fact that I was majorly depressed when I finished it. It was sweet, granted, but still saddening. The part that really hit me was Johns' fathers' death. Only seven people attended the funeral, including John. "It broke my heart-absolutely broke it into a million pieces-that in all the world, only these people had seen the worthiness of my dad." That so depressing.

Savannah also had a lot of inspiring, and honest outlooks about life. For example, when she was talking about passions. She says," The saddest people I've ever met in life are the ones who don't care deeply about anything at all. Passion and satisfaction go hand in hand, and without them, any happiness is only temporary, because there's nothing to make it last."

She also had a very effective passage about struggles during hard times. She says, "When you're struggling with something, look at all the people around you and realize that every single person you see is struggling with something, and to them, it's just as hard as what you're going through." That's so deep, and ever since I read that paragraph, I've been doing that. It helps.

Have a good night, everyone. I still need to get ready for Florida! :) Isn't that a wonder?
